Why volunteer with East Dunbartonshire CAB?

People of all ages, from all walks of life, come to volunteer with us. Volunteer roles are not just a great way to gain work experience, they boost your confidence too. In fact, volunteering is one of the most rewarding things you can do. If you’ve ever wanted to give back to your community, learn new skills or meet people locally, volunteering could be the answer.

Is volunteering for you?

You don’t need to be retired to volunteer with us. It’s true we value the extensive skills and life experience our retired volunteer workers bring with them, but anybody can be a volunteer. Perhaps you’re a young mum, with a bit more time on your hands now the kids have started school. It’s easy to lose confidence but voluntary work can help you brush up your skills and get back to work. Maybe you’ve been unemployed for a while and want to pick up some new transferable skills? Volunteer work experience looks great on your CV. It can help you stand out at that interview!

If you’ve just moved to the East Dunbartonshire area and you don’t know many people, or if you have some free time, why not volunteer with us? Our team are friendly and approachable; the atmosphere in our offices is positive and supportive.

What roles are available?

Even if you’ve never considered voluntary work before, we’ve got plenty of volunteer roles on offer. You might want to get involved as an adviser, offering advice on various topics from benefits or employment to health and well-being. We’re always looking for volunteers with administrative skills, and we also have a variety of social policy roles where you’ll be campaigning and supporting the vital work that we do. You can even put your social media skills to good use, helping us to campaign online! Our volunteer roles really are a great way to put the skills gained in life and throughout your career to good use.

Without our volunteers, we wouldn’t be able to keep our services going. So if you’re looking for a new challenge this year and would like to give something back to your local community, why not get in touch?

You can apply for voluntary work with East Dunbartonshire CAB online or call us on 0141 775 3220.
